Local Bakeries Trying to Kneed Out Hefty Fines

Bakery Siblings Under Heat!

Miami-Dade: Local Bakery siblings are trying to kneed-out the hefty fines they received which top the $100k mark as a result of hazardous workplace conditions at their manufacturing facilities. The OSHR, which monitors and controls potential occupational workplace hazards, hit the bakery brothers with penalties this past June on claims of serious violations. According to the findings, employees were exposed to potential personal injuries hazards from unsecured argon and nitrogen cylinders, faulty machinery and poor electrical installations, all of which could lead to fire, explosions, and injured workers. Furthermore, the investigation found that workers had not received the proper training t handle sensitive equipment such as saws and fire extinguishers. This is undoubtedly a case of employer negligence according to the inspection by the OSHR and which lead to the hefty fines.

Under Florida State Law, employers must provide safe and hazard-free work conditions and facilities.
